ASRB ICAR NET 2017 Exam Pattern

The Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is going to conduct computer-based online test for ARS Prelims and NET-I 2017.

NET 2017 Exam Pattern

There will be one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in 2 (Two) hours. Each question carries one mark. These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear.

Minimum marks required

This table contains the percentage (minimum qualifying marks) required to be eligible to get certificate of ICAR NET 2017.

Other Rules/ Negative Marking

  • The question paper consist of objective type questions. You have to read all the details.
  • The question paper medium shall be HINDI and ENGLISH (bi-lingual).
  • If there is any problem in question, the English medium question can be referred as final.
  • 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the NET (I)-2017.
  • There will be no rounding off of fractions of marks.
  • The answers are to be indicated on the Computer itself during the Examination.

Candidates must mark the answers/papers in their own hand. Under no circumstances, they will be allowed the help of a scribe to mark the answers for them. Only the Visually Divyang (VD) and Orthopedically Divyang (OD) candidates will both arms affected may the allowed the help of a Scribe only with the prior permission of the Board. Provision of a scribe will be made by ASRB on prior request made by such candidates ten (10) days before the Examination on arsnet2016@asrb.org.in. An additional time of 20 (twenty) minutes per hour will be allowed to such candidates.


The standard of paper will be that of a Master’s degree of an Indian University in the relevant Discipline.
