Registration Form ASRB ICAR NET 2017: AGRICULTURAL SCIENTISTS RECRUITMENT BOARD (ASRB) is inviting online application for National Eligibility Test (NET-I) 2017 for recruitment in Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India. The ARS (Preliminary) Examination 2017 online application form is a qualifying examination and its marks will not be carried forward for determining final merit of the candidates. All those candidates desirous of appearing for ARS Examination are required to take both the Preliminary and Mains Examination and viva-voce. Since a pass in the Preliminary Examination is compulsory for all candidates, only those candidates who qualify the ARS-2016 (Preliminary) Examination.
National Eligibility Test (NET) is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible to apply for the post of Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs. NET certificates will be issued by the ASRB to the qualified candidates to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities/Agricultural Universities. SAUs/AUs will satisfy themselves with regard to fulfilment of prescribed eligibility condition/criterion for requisite posts of Lecturers/Assistant Professors including authenticity of the NET Certificate in the possession of the candidates.

Eligibility Criteria of ICAR NET 2017
Below is the complete eligibility qualification/ age limit/ NRI etc.
A candidate must be either:
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a citizen of Nepal, or
(iii) a citizen of Bhutan, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01.01.2017. There is no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test.
A candidate must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned Discipline and specialization completed on or before 08.07.2017 from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or he/she must have qualification from a foreign University recognized as equivalent by the Government of India (GoI).

The candidate have to submit their application form at official website http://www.asrb.org.in. The application fee is Rs 1000/- for Unreserved (UR). Rs 500/- for Other Backward Class (OBC) and Rs 250/- for Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (st)/ Divyang / Women candidates.
RULES of ICAR NET 2017
- NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS: There is no restriction on number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility Test.
- The date of declaration of result of NET Examination will be the date of qualifying NET Examination.
- The decision of the Board as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the examination shall be final.
- No candidate will be admitted to the examination unless he/ she hold a certificate of admission from the Board.
- Any attempt on the part of a candidate to obtain support for his/ her candidature by any means may disqualify him/ her from admission to the examination.
