Drug Test for Driver Post.
Every candidate shall undergo a Substance Abuse (Drug addiction) Test at the Range/ Zonal/ District/ Commissionerate Recruitment centre before the conduct of the Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT). The SAT shall be conducted under the supervision of Medical officials of the Punjab Government/recognized Medical University/Institute. Only the candidates who clear the Substance Abuse Test shall be entitled to appear in the PST/ PMT, Written Test and Driving proficiency Test.
Written Test Pattern.
The candidates who qualify the physical trial (SAT, PST and PMT) will be required to appear in a Written Examination Test (WET) to be held at such number of Centres as the Central Recruitment Board may decide. The WET shall be of 50 Marks and will consist of the Objective Type Questions. The candidate will be required to mark his answers on an OMR Sheet that will be provided. The WET shall broadly cover the questions on Driving Aptitude, the knowledge about the Motor Machinery, Road and Traffic Signs, General Awareness etc. and will also test the candidate’s Road sense. There will be no negative marking.
It is mandatory to get minimum of 45% marks to qualify this examination by the candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC categories, whereas other candidates have to get minimum of 50% pass marks. The date and the place of written test will be uploaded subsequent to the completion of physical trials on the website of Punjab police www.punjabpolice.gov.in and www.punjabpolicerecruitment.in.
Physical Test (PET & PST) Punjab Police Driver
Non-Ex-servicemen – 1600 meters Race to be completed in 6minutes 30 seconds (only 1 chance) Long Jump: 3.80 meters (3 chances) High Jump: 1.10 meters (3 chances)
- Age <=35 years: 1400 meters Walk and Run to be completed in 9 minutes. (only 1 chance) 10 Sit Ups within 2 minutes
- Age >35 years: 1400 meters Walk and. Run to be completed in 12 minutes. (only 1 chance) 10 Sit Ups within 3 minutes.
Driving Proficiency Test
The candidates who have qualified in the Physical Trials and passed written test shall be required to appear in a Driving Proficiency Test (DPT) which will be involving the hands on experience of the candidate on a vehicle. DPT shall be of qualifying nature and the candidates will have to qualify in the DPT to be considered for preparation of Provisional Merit List. The list & admit cards for such candidates will be uploaded after the result of written test. The venue of the Centre for DPT will be mentioned in the admit card & also uploaded on the website.
Physical Measurement Test (PMT).
The requirement in Punjab Police Constable Driver is based on Physical Screening Test (PST). The height of candidate is 5’7″ to qualify for written test.
Note: A candidate must qualify in all the above events. Failure to qualify in any one of the above events of Physical Screening Test shall disqualify the candidate from the recruitment process.
